    A combination of radar and satellite reveals a hot spot in central Grant County along with dust lofting across northern and central Lincoln County. Consequently...A smoke plume is evident via the Quincy webcam and dust is also evident via the Davenport webcam compared the clear skies from earlier this morning. Blowing dust and grass fires remain the main concerns with the windy conditions this afternoon.

    Temperatures will scale back to near normal through the holiday weekend as high pressure weakens aloft. Tuesday will begin to cool off as a prequel to the arrival of a strong and deep trough mid week. Expect mid to upper 70s in the valley on Wednesday and slight warming for every day beyond. The forecast calls for a chance of showers with light precipitation in the higher terrain on Wednesday.

    West-Northwest winds will increase across SE Oregon and SW Idaho Sunday with strongest winds in the SW Idaho valleys especially the Magic Valley. Winds gusting to 40 mph with areas of blowing dust can be expected Sunday afternoon. Temperatures across the area will be cool with temperatures in the 50s in the mountains and upper 60s in the southern Valleys. Scattered showers will occur across the West Central and Boise Mountains.l
